Rock Fall and Seawall

Rockfall and Sea Wall
Sept 3rd - Sept 20th
Taking it's title from Susan Laughton's pieces Rockfall and Sea Wall is the first of a series of programmed exhibitions in the Top Floor Space of Staithes Studios Gallery.

In May 2015 Susan was the first Staithes Studios guest Artist in Residency. During her stay at the things that caught her eye and fed into the body of work she produced based on the residency were natural rock formations, edges, outlines, weathering and erosion balanced by observations of the manmade in the form of fishermen’s huts at Port Mulgrave, the giant granite boulders of the harbour wall.
Alongside Susan's work are works by Kathryn Desforges, Paulina Varregn, Jennifer Tetlow, Emma Williams, Caroline Haurie, Rob Moore, Ali Brice and resident artists Ian and Stef Mitchell
